Majidah Hashim is a lover of beautiful experiences, aspiring to inject a fresh and artistic perspective onto culture, adventure, environmentalism and lifestyle on the move. She is a certified PADI Open Water Diver and a rock climbing enthusiast.

Fuelled by an awesome sense of curiosity, Majidah’s passion lies in the great unknowns in every new (and old!) experience. She has great interest in the everyday habits of cultures as well as its histories, myths, legends and folklore, and would journey to great lengths to discover them. Majidah also feels strongly about education and environmental responsibility, and principally believes in striking a balance between progress and conservation. Experimental, romantically poetic with just a touch of cynical witticism, her articles and photographs has appeared in numerous local and regional publications.

A Descriptive Linguist by training, Majidah’s academic area of interest lies in discovering stylistical mechanisms at work (and play) in modern written form. She has presented at a number of local and international linguistics conferences, particularly on the subject of Structural Sociolinguistics and Critical Discourse Analysis.
